Hello people. Once again, I am going to make another post for ACE. Today, I will talk more on the 'Animal Farm' play which I attended on the 23rd of April. From what I know, this play is a 10th year production by 'W!LD RICE'. Firstly, I shall now start off with a brief introduction regarding this play. 'Animal Farm' is a novella written by George Orwell. This book reflects events leading up to and during the Stalin era before World War II, which also emphasizes on totalitarianism. It was formally known as 'Animal Farm: A Fairy Story', however, it was changed to solely 'Animal Farm' for the sake of publishing.
Now, I shall now elaborate more on what happened in the play. At the start of the play, there was a baffling introduction. Truthfully speaking, there was an unanimous thought among my friends that we may have entered the wrong drama room. However, as the pandemonium had died down gradually, we were able to comprehend what the casts of the 'Animal Farm' play were trying to portray. As the casts first stepped onto the stage, they were apparently wearing normal clothes. This depicts that the animals in Animal Farm were the parallel of people from all walks of life, for example, workers, businessmen, students and also the royalties. As the start of the story approaches, the casts, dressed in normal clothes, took of the clothes instantaneously and have apparently became animals.
Throughout the play, there were scenes which were adjacent with the reality, for example, the use of power to tyrannise over lower subjects. However, there were also hilarious and funny scenes which could evoked the laughter of the crowd easily.
It is time to end this post. Goodbye.
