Emergency IT Lesson 1 Figurative Language

Fair Fox, full of grief

sailed away from the Boston shore
she wept,oh my!
For hours and hours, oh my!
Weeping!Oh her grief,
It is a leaking faucet
It is like a pouring shower, and her ship begins to sink down.
She is sinking!
But, the wind carries her tears away,
The breeze is cool and relaxing
The Fair Fox is happy
The boat is now afloat,
and her grief gown gone
Oh my!

Figurative language is used in most of the lines of the poem. There are five techniques of figurative language.

1) Metaphor: A metaphor is a comparison made between things which are essentially not alike. It is similar to a simile, but does not use like or as. One example of a metaphor would be to say, "it is a leaking faucet"

2) Simile: A simile is a comparison that often uses the words like or as. One example of a simile would be to say, "It is like a pouring shower"

3) Personification: When something that is not human is given human-like qualities, this is known as personification. An example of personification would be to say,"wind carries" The wind gained human traits by being able to "carry" the fox's tears.

4) Hyperbole: Exaggerating, often in a humorous way, to make a particular point is known as hyperbole. One of example of hyperbole would be to say, "Weeping!Oh her grief". The writer used this to create an overly grievous emphasis on the fox's grief

5) Symbolism: Symbolism occurs when a noun which has meaning in itself is used to represent something entirely different. One example of symbolism would be to use an image of the American flag to represent patriotism and a love for one’s country.

I like this poem as it displays many types of figurative language, which could allow me to learn and understand this poem better. The composer expresses this poem with much exaggeration, for example, he ended the poem with 'Oh my' and also added 'Oh her grief'. In conclusion, I would like to say that this poem is very nice and I indubitably love it.

Emergency IT Lesson 2 Analyzing & Composing poem

A day at school

Bells ring,
Students wish
Teachers are absent,
Then their lives would be loosen.

Students talk,
Unable to stop,
Monitor nods,
Everyone stops,

Teacher steps in,
Students act disciplined,
Monitor starts to complain,
Trouble is deep.

Bells ring once again,
Their zest regains,
And walked out of the school,
Looking so cool

Hello people. Once again, I am going to make another post for ACE. Today, I will talk more on the 'Animal Farm' play which I attended on the 23rd of April. From what I know, this play is a 10th year production by 'W!LD RICE'. Firstly, I shall now start off with a brief introduction regarding this play. 'Animal Farm' is a novella written by George Orwell. This book reflects events leading up to and during the Stalin era before World War II, which also emphasizes on totalitarianism. It was formally known as 'Animal Farm: A Fairy Story', however, it was changed to solely 'Animal Farm' for the sake of publishing.
Now, I shall now elaborate more on what happened in the play. At the start of the play, there was a baffling introduction. Truthfully speaking, there was an unanimous thought among my friends that we may have entered the wrong drama room. However, as the pandemonium had died down gradually, we were able to comprehend what the casts of the 'Animal Farm' play were trying to portray. As the casts first stepped onto the stage, they were apparently wearing normal clothes. This depicts that the animals in Animal Farm were the parallel of people from all walks of life, for example, workers, businessmen, students and also the royalties. As the start of the story approaches, the casts, dressed in normal clothes, took of the clothes instantaneously and have apparently became animals.
Throughout the play, there were scenes which were adjacent with the reality, for example, the use of power to tyrannise over lower subjects. However, there were also hilarious and funny scenes which could evoked the laughter of the crowd easily.
It is time to end this post. Goodbye.
